Turning Gold into Glitter: A Playful Take on Industry Training for Students

Background

The Gold Industry Group (GIG) is a not-for-profit association on a mission to promote Australia’s gold sector through long-term education and community initiatives.

GIG approached Ideaseed with a unique challenge: make their gold industry training content exciting, educational, and student-friendly. The goal was to build an animated, interactive PowerPoint presentation for school audiences, one that would inform, inspire, and maybe even get a few giggles.

What we did

We kicked things off by bringing the content to life with a cheeky mascot named Nugget — a golden character who added personality and consistency to the entire deck. Nugget helped guide the storyline, making the content feel more like a playful journey than a lecture.

The presentation was built entirely in PowerPoint but packed with movement and interaction. We animated key content, layered in clickable elements, and structured the slides to encourage active engagement from students. It didn't just have to look good and appeal to the audience, it also had to be easy for the GIG team to use and adapt for different schools and age groups.

The result

The final result was a bright, dynamic, and user-friendly presentation that transformed GIG’s educational outreach. It’s a tool that makes learning about the gold industry memorable and fun and it’s already winning over classrooms.

Everyone was absolutely stoked with the presentations. We all especially love Nugget and how much more professional the slides look. The Ideaseed team did an incredible job when they rebuilt the Gold Industry Group National education program slides. They made the content connect so much better with students and really brought the value of gold to life. Their work was fabulous then, and the presentation is still just as strong today!
